Basic Roles

The basic roles included in the beginner's set help in understanding their fundamental roles.

Family

A family targeted by murderers.
If all the Familys in the mansion are killed (or exiled), they lose.
They can move to another room for only one night.
How they use this opportunity becomes a critical point for victory or defeat.
While surviving is crucial, merely hiding won't lead to victory.
At times, bold actions become necessary.

Murderer

A masked figure nursing a strong grudge against the master of the mansion and their family.
After assassinating the master, they bring the item that turned into the murder weapon back to their room.
From the second day onwards, during the night, they swap the item in the room they visit with the one in their room.
Also, they can kill only one person encountered in a room.
Therefore, they must decide whether to prioritize swapping items with other rooms to prevent the identification of the murder weapon or prioritize visiting rooms where encounters with others seem likely, aiming to eliminate the family.
Note that the murderer's item swap and murder occur after the actions of other roles.
(In other words, if another player visits the murderer's room on the first day, the item from before the swap may be identified.)
Utilize the advantage of knowing all the rooms with items on the first day to deceive the family.

Guest

An unfortunate guest invited to the party.
Timid but can invade another room just for one night at the risk of their life and confirm the item in that room.
If they encounter the murderer, they will be killed.
They must act considering how the family can survive and how to identify the murderer and the murder weapon.

Accomplice

An individual who sympathizes with the murderer and secretly assists them.
The accomplice doesn't know the identity of the murderer, and the murderer doesn't know the accomplice.
By actively invading other rooms and swapping items and the murder weapon, the scene can become chaotic, aiding the murderer.
However, if the accomplice encounters the murderer, they will be killed by the murderer, requiring caution.
Sometimes, it's crucial to pretend to be the murderer to divert suspicion away from the actual murderer.

Journalist

A journalist involved, fortunately or unfortunately, in a murder case.
Every night, the Journalist invades another room and confirms the item in that room.
Taking advantage of being able to invade every night, invading multiple rooms enables gathering information on the item's location and the murderer's movements.
This role is essential in deciphering the murderer.

Prankster

An individual who simply wants to have fun.
Similar to the accomplice, the prankster doesn't know the murderer's identity, and the murderer doesn't know the prankster.
Every night, the prankster invades another room and confirms the item in that room.
Leveraging nightly invasions, gathering much information, occasionally lying, causing chaos in the mansion, and assisting the murderer.
